Received 9, 0.81 a.m. Nbw York, June 8, w Bain has checked the fires in the United States.. It is estimated the damage will •mount to £20,000,000. S'x thousand are fighting the flimes in Canada with small aucccess. Seven towns have been destroyed, the largest being Hopewell, where the damage is estimated at £5,000,000. Prayers for rain are general.
