BUILDING AN I) SANITARY/BTE-LAW*. At the Courcil meeting to-night the Byo-laws Ocmnaittce wiil submit the fallowing repai t: A conference was held with Messrs H. J. Kin?, Kwing, F. Messenger and F. Bjllringer, representing the Taranakt Master Builderj' Association, when it was decided to make tha following amendments to the building bye-laws :—Page 86 pirty walla omit all words afwr p>ge 87, " inner area," to include blo:k between K.awau-s'ro6t to Qover-street, and from I Gill-street to tbo sea; page 88, clause 4, sub-section 0 substitutes 18 inches for ten feet and delate "or shall be returned" and the following words: page 88, clause 5, alter to permit ot wooded doors encased in 22 G iron to ba us d instead of iron doors and to permit the use of window shutters of fireproof gauze; page 93, clause 17, d.le-e " person on wnosa behalf build icg is bsing erected " and insert "contractor or builder who is erecting a building "; page 97, clause 11, add "or brick nogging miy be used "; p»ge 97, section 19, delete hst sentence and substitute " every proj'Ction must be built of materials to be approved by the laspec:or"; page 98, clause 16, insert after the word "Banded" the words "or galvanised"; page 98, ehuse 31, delete hst sentence and substitute " brestsummers to shiw factor of safety to t>ie hpproval of the Inspector "; and new clauso " >ll new chimaeys ia inner area to be huik with core linings "; page 108, schedule No. 2, insert uocV £2s—2s 6*. Sanitary Bye-hws. —Page 24, olaus* 93, add before word Plumber the word Mas'er, and after the word " him " thwords "or his employees "; page 25, cUuse 94, substitute Ss for 10i and 2d 6d for si; page 25, clause 96 and 97, add after " licensed plumber" the words "or hia employer "; p»ge 25, clause 99, dekte all words preceding "and he shall" and insert in lieu thereof " all wark under or in connection with this division shall be done by a licensed plumber."
He General Conditions of Oantraot. —That the general conditions of ooatract submittal by the Taranaki Builders' Association be adopted by the Council in onuection with all buildings to be erecied.
