A BOOK GUfissisra entertainment is certainly new to New Plymoutbj but is is a form of enj iyment that should bec .me very popular. Tbe promo - ere of the entertainment htld in B*. Mary's flail on Thursday evening are to be complimented up.;n their success, and judging by the attendance (the building being crowded) the resuh should bs a valuable addition to the org\n fund. The program me of rrusicil ivmi was an exce'l nt one, and tho eff of tha various contributors were, nesdless to s iy, highly appreciated. Those who kindly assisted in this respect were Mesdames Bauuhopeand Pop J who contributed piano solos, Misses Campbell, 00l is (2), aLd L. George, and Messrs Ryan and Woodard, who sang, whilst Mr Tutscbka gave a violin tob, nnd Mr Ohristoph r r-cited, Nor muat we forget a very interesting icetn in the shape of a poi dance by little miss Milly Riki Hama, which was splendidly given. Miss's Standisb and Mackay and MrGolding proved able accompanists. The tableaux were excellent, showing considerable care in preparation,but Ih i book tides I hey r*presented proved a difficult m>tt<r to determine. The books represented were as follows :—" Choir Invisible," The Choir; "Tangled Thread," M sses Evans and Geaige; "Fallow Travellers," Missj S andish and others; "Maori Maid," Mies Milly Riki Haraa; "Four] Feathers,' Miss A. Bubin and Mr! Hume; "Sweet Girl Graduate," Miaj Evans; " Saints and Sinners," Me?sra j Ryan, Hume, Binmster and Woodard, j and four boys: " Lilac Sunbonne%" Miss Crawford ; " Our Widow," Mis* A. Bobin; " The Little Minister," Master Pearce;" Tbe Scarlet Womnn," Miss Chong; " While the Billy B jilr=," Mr J, B. Clarke. Tee winner proved to be Miss McAllum, who p'aced 10 out of the 12, whilst four others correctly named nine. This necessitated a draw for second prize, which was secured by Mrs Pop?. Tha National Anthem concluded a mass enjoyable evening.
