Permission was granted to Tukapa and Star Olubs to phy fancy dress match s, provided they do not clash with Union fixturae. Letters were read from the Star and Olifton Clubs re the match fixed for Thursday, May 21, in New Piymouth. The Star team, in obedien-sa to the referee, waited on the Avenue Road ground, but Clifton kicke 1 off at the R-creation Ground. Each club claimed the match.
Mr Bellringer, as Star's delegate, vacated the chii-, and Mr Spurdle was appointed to preside. Mr Buchanan, for Clifton, s\id that when the Cliftjn team appeareJ at New Plymouth Recreation Ground it was fio to pl-iy, and the only m mb*r of tho Star team to meet them was Mr Humphries, who said the match was to b9 played on ano'her ground. Clifton had not had any information before an ival on the ground that the tmt:h was to be p'ayed elsewhere, or that the Rscieation Ground was unfi. for phy. Eventually Mr Arndt moved, That as the evidence showed that the referee decidtd on the unfitness of tbe ground, but also shows that there was no absolute proof that the Olifton team received no'ificition of the rtferte's d°cision, the match be pliyed at New Plymouth on July 9th. Seconded by Mr Clark and cartiei. Applications for i einstatement we e declined, as they should hava tean sent in b.fore the conclusion of the first round, Mr Bellringer resumad the chair. The secretary of the Opunake Olub wrote, protesting in tbe match bt tween Opunake 111. and El ham 111. «t Eltham, on the ground thai the latter team played Olark and Walsh, senior*. As the application had only arrived that day, and no notice had b.en givsn to Ekham, consideration was deferred un'il their version is obtained.
