Thtre fore c'ause two of the Education Bill was abandoned, leav.rg the Lond m County Council ia the same position with regard to the formation of an Education Committee as the other County Oounci's. The Unionist press severely condemn the Governments vacillation over the Bill. The Standard says tha Goverrmen' have vhtudly withdrawn their Bill in favour of one drafted by the Opposition and diss'ntient Unionists. Received 28, 0 50 a.m. . London, May 27. In the Commms the.Bill passed through committee. The Government accepted amendments greatly minimising the powers and responsibilities of Borough Couucillorsin the management cf elementary schools.
