At a general meeting of the sfcaraholdera of the Momington-Tramway Company, whose cab'.e lino was taken over by the borough council, it was resolved to go into voluntary liquidation The chair rmn ssid the shareholders would get ruck their capital and a little more, appirantly the sum to be divided was £25,000 Mr D. B. Gunson was appoin'ed liqu ! dafc;r. At the Supreme Court John Harris was acquitted of the charge of breaking and ente-ifg and scaling. His compari:n Ecclee, who had guilty in the lower court to taking ih r ngsfroai his sister's hcusp, giving evidence that Harris had no'hing to da wi'h the case excepting that he tssisted him ti ramova the clothing, etc. Martin Brody, alias Michael Kelly, with a bad recrd in Auckland, was sentenced to three years for stealirg from the person. He had snatched a a pocket-book from a dunken sailor, but was pursued and caught by two other sailors.
