RAIN PRODUCING EXPERIMENTS.
PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Received 20, 10.49 p.m. Melbourne, May 20. Experiments' conducted by Dr. McCarthy to produce tain in drought districts are attracting attention. The method is to send up columns of gas obtained from chemicals, the nature of which is a secret. If this is done continuously for 31 hours it will produce rain over a range of 90 miles. It is alleged that in one 3lilte near Inglewood an inch of rain fell as the result of the experiment.
