Auckland, May 20, The trial of William RichardsoD, charged with defamatory libel, was concluded tonight after occupying seven days. Justica Oonolly summed up in a speech lasting nearly three hours. The jury, after two and a half hours' retirement, returned with a verdict of "not guilty." The verdict was r aceived ifith applause in court, and after ftichardson left the court there was a demonstration in his favonr. It is possible there will be an appeal against the verdict on several law points.
