BUS SERVICE TO VOGELTOWN.

A laegkly attended meeting of residents of Vogeltown and the neighbour-1 hood was held at the residence of Bis Worship the Mayor (Mr R. -Coals) on Tuesday evening, when the question of arranging for a 'bus service was discussed and satisfactorily settled. Mr M. Jones has agreed to put on a service in about two months time, providing for nine trips each way from the Coffea Palace to Mr Sixtoa's corner. The 'bus will be thoroughly up-to date in all ! respects, and Mr Jones will be guaranteed against loss for a period of two years. The meeting was very enthusiastic in the matrer, asd those presint are to be congratulated on thtir public spirit. Nearly tho whole amount of tbe required guarantee waR tiken up by ibose present. A committee, consisting of Messrs Cock, Brown, Blanchard, and Henderson, was appointed to carry out the foregoing arrangements. A vote t f thanss was accorded to the Mayor for aUowing the meeting to b8 held at his residence. There is no douto that tbe enterprise of the residents will have a marked effect on the value of property in this important suburb, as well as provirg a great boon to the town and district.
