HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The Board met on Monday. Present: j Messrs liseh (ehiirman), McDonald, Pigo.t, Andrjws,Liirdef, Brown, fcriay, Hiue, Mickay, Stohr. Correspondence was read as to outstanding accounts. Messrs Govett and Quilliam wrote relative to the transfer of sections 399 and 400, New Plymouth, from T. P. Lifter to Walter Stride.—Agreed to oo u-ual terms.
On the suggestion of Dc Walker, an artificial leg is to be procured for R j Alcortr, in inmate of the Home. Leave o" absence was gianted to! Rurce Or. znr, owing to illness M'.863 Eva Smith, Ellis, and Home wro'e asking to be placed on the probationers' 1 sc—Granted. The Ejraont Oounty wrote stating a resolution had been passed postponing c:n'-id«ration of the levy until the district valuation was ob'.aiood. They asked for particulars of boundaries. Nursj Mackay'd resignation was accepted, and Nurse Dooaldson was appointed senior nurse on terms of Dr. L°atham's suggestion. Dr. Leatham rf ported on an in fectious cjss io reply to an inquiry by the Oa'rington-road branch of the Farmers' Union. He stated that all infectious cases at the hospital were isolated.
Mrs Innis, an inmate of the Home, be sent to EngUnd. Oa the recommendation of Dr. Walker, the request is to be granted. The custodian of the Home reported that the admissions duiing the month had been four, departures two, leaving 31 in the Hom\
A deputation fnm the Friendly Societies, Messrs Ainsworth and Gilbert, waited on the Board to advocate a rod uc ioo of charges to members when treated at the hospital. | On the nntion of Mr Mickay it was decided to pos'pone consideration of the nutter tilt the next meetiog of the Board, the secretary meanwhile to inquire the practioe io vogue with other Boards. The Board went into oommistea to hear Dr. Lmtham's views oa subjects connected with bis department.
The Board alsa considered in committee the report of the Board's committee, rela'ive to the adjustment of accounts with the flawera Bjatd. «On resuming it was desided to leave further developments ia the hinds of the committee.
Accounts amounting to £359 were passed. The Boird rose at 4 p.m.
