At the meeting of settlers at Toko on Tuesday evening there was a good attendance, Mr J. B, Hine occupying tha chair. Mr J. B. Hine was chosen as delegate to the New Plymouth conference. The meeting w?s thoroughly representative, and the pros and cots were well threshed out. Several speakers averred that i". would not greatly affect he Toko d'strict, as far as imports aud exports were concdrrieJ, if tho New Plymouth breakwater was washed away altogether.
