WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.

At tbe monthly meeting of the above Board th°ra were present Messrs T> Western (chairman), Old, and Turnbulli Correspondence was read from Taraiaki JK iucatioa Board re OpaKtu Ra> -ervi; frjra Oc?an, Accident insuranoa Co. re insuring Board's employees for first fortnight in case of accident; from Messrs Western Bros, complaining of damage done by pigs on Brown Road) from Department of Roads stating that engineer's charges could not be paid out of Government grants; from Matiif T. A. Bishop complaining of work dona by Board oa Everett Road ; from. set< tiers on upper end ot Te Arei Raid requesting that a further loan of £6O ba raised to complete formation; from District Road Surveyor re amounts required by Board from Government. Mr T. G. Sole attended n Te Arei Road contraof, and it was decided that 'he work bs done aoowdiog to epsoU licitions.
Messrs Bennett and OomVs waited on tbe Board re Te Arei Road deviation and loan for same, and Messrs Wes'ern and Turnbull were deputed to inspect 'and report at next meeting, The clerk was directed to take the necessary steps to raise loan on To Arei Road.
The Suifdcemin was direoted to report on damage done to Brown Rotd, and to warn persons against allowing pigs to damage same. The balance-she ?t for the year ended 31st March was road and passed subject to audit. Resolved that the tender of Mr Richards, of £3 15s per chain, for two chains of meta!, aod XI par chain for lour chains of formation, be accepted.
Mr Turnbull was authorised to exp3ud a further sum, not exceeding this year's rate.-i, on the Eaham Road.
Acocuots were pisjed for piymtnt, and the Buard adjourned.
