WHITELEY MEMORIAL CHURCH.
LADIES GUILD. I TaH annual meeting of the Ladies [ Guild in connection with the above ' church was held on Friday evening in , the Junior Schoolroom. Between 50 f and 60 ladies and gentlemen sat down | to tea shortly after 6 o'clock, the tables U being provided by Mesdames Whitaker, § T. Chatterton and Cannell. After tea | a short period was occupied in social intercourse and conversation, when the newly-appointed minister, the Rev. J. N. Butt'e and Mi s Buttle I ad a further opportunity of meeting the members of the congregation and becoming better arquainted with them. Subsequently several matters of business were dealt with and the following were ; appointed as officers for the ensuing term:— President, Mrs Buttle; vicepresident, Mrs Oannell '. secretary, Mrs W. Ambury; treasurer, Mrs Douglas; canvassers, Misses Hoddar and M. j Oannell. On the motion of Mr Whit- J aker, hearty thanks were accorded to the officers and members of the Guild for the substantial help rendered to the church in past yearp, after which the meeting was closed with devotional exercises. j,
