THE PKIVY COUNCIL

TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—l read with inte-est your ka-3-ing article on tho Privy Couuci l , but I am sorry I cannot take your view of the matter. I rather glory in the action taken by the New Zealand Beach, and wish we had in Australia men in the came position who would '' take a similar course. If we wait for Government to take action we may wait until all interest in the matter is lest. Continually we have complaints In Australia that the Privy Council has given decisions showing gross ignorance of onr land laws, but years pass by acd nothing is done. I was a member of the New Sonth Wales Ministry in the early sixties, and have b en Sheriff of New South Wales for nearly a quarter of a century. I am nor, ther. fore, without experience, having been ou intimate terms with all pur public men as well 8S the legal profession, and, although they may not all agres with me, I feel certain the day is not far distant when we shall have established a Colonial High Court of Appaal in the Commonwealth, including New Z mland W»*ball then look back with gratitude to the action taken by Sir Robert Stout and his colleagues on the Bench. Apologising for taking up your space, feeling that the question cannot be too much agitated at the present time, having been a close observer of events in England duting the last four years. —I am* etc.,
