The balancashee h . showed that on 31st March there was £l9 3s 51 to the credit of the school fund, but a laage portion of this was absorbed by outstanding liabilities. Mr F, P. Coraill moved tbe adoption of the report and balance-sheet in a few complimentary remarks. Mr Bites seconded. R v Woolley said he endowed what had fallen from Mr Oorkill. Thera were, however, two omissions in tb<s report. When ha joined tbe committee last year there was a good deal of friction between the Committee and tbe Board, and he was glad to say this had all been gut over, and. the mou; amicable relations now existed between them. Then no 'mection was made of the valuable services rendered for many years past by Mr W. A. Oollis, chahmsn of the Committee, and he was glad to take this opportunity of doing so, The Ohairmin, in putting the moiiou, endorsed Mr Woolley'd remarks. Tbe nomination of members of the new committee was then proceeded with, the following being co-ninated, viz., Messrs Bites, Rev. Woolley, Scanley Smith, W. A. Colli?, S. W. Jackson, Tnos. Freethey, Dr. Whittoo, £. P. fl. White, Oattran, and T. White. Messrs S. B. White and Stanley Shaw were eleoUd scrutineers, and the ballot resulted in the election of Messis W. A. Oollis, E. B. Bates, Rev. W. R. Woolley, 8. Smith, Dr - Whittoo, E. Gilmour, S. W. Jackson, T. White, and P. J. H. White. Mr Stanley Shaw moved a very hearty vote of thanks to the outgoing committee, complimenting them on the work of the past year. The Rev. F. W. Evans seconded, and the motion was carried with acclamation. Mr Oollis then moved a hevty vote nf thanks to the headmaster and tbe teaching staff, speaking in high terms of the value of their services. Mr R. W. Neal seconded. .Messrs J. T. White and Stanley Shaw alno tpoke in hudatory terms. If all schools were as efficiently staff-d as the New Plymouth schools they would have few educ*tional troubles. The motion was carried with ap plause. The meeting then closed. COMMITTER MEBTIN9. The first meeting of tbe Oommttee was then held, all the memb.rs b.-iog piesent. | The clerk, M<-. Fookes, occupied th*! chair, aod on the motion of toe Rev. W. R. Wooley, seconded by Mr. S. Smith, Mr. Oollis was re-elected Chairman. Mr, Oollis, on taking tbe chair, returned thanks in a few general remarks. On the motion of Mr. Jckson, seconded by Rev, Woolley, Mr. A. B. R. Fookes was re-elected clerk at a bonus of £l4 per annum. Tbe meetings were fixed for the 3tc Monday of each month, at 7.30 p.m. The Chairman and Treasun r were appointed to sign cheques, and the Rev Woolley and Mr. S. Smiib were ap point, d a visiting committee for th month, This terminated tbe business. WEST END SCHOOL. The followiog Committee were elected : Messrs Gilbert, Garner, J. Hurle, Mauder, Simmons, Ashtr, and Blanchard. Mr G lb?rt was elected chairman and Mr Hurle secretary, The attentate-.) was small. FITZROY. I here was a fairly good attendanc . Mr. 0. F. Footf presided. The Committee's report was read by the Chairman, a> d detailed the work and imp-ovements. effected at tht> school. It also referred to the change in the headmaster, whereby as shown by the loppectrVs report a gre*t im piv.vement bad taken place. The Inspector's report was read and received with applause.
