Shaw, Ambury, Blytb, OaUigha-, Tribe, B. _ 1 Griffiths, H. Okay, N. Okey, Moray, ! Medl «y, Jo; as, Wright, Clarke, Morton, Pikett, O. Weston, and a number of others. Apologies were received from Mwm H. Weston, A. Staodisb, and His Worship the Mayor (Mr E. Djokrill). After a good deat of oon?emtional discissi >n, taken part in by Messrs M Allum, Paul, Richmond, Stanley Shiw, Roy, T. 8. Wtaton, Kerr, H. Okey, W. J. Shaw, add the Ohunnen, Mr D. McAllum moved, Mr Paul 8 c nlid, and it was carried unaniinoutdv, " That a Leagui ba formed for 'he pu-pos' of as-dating the Harbour B i»rd in prom ittpg a acbema for the imp'ovement of the harbour and the extension of the b eikwater. After further diacussioD, it was decided to elect a provisional committee to take step* to bring the importance of tbe harbour under the notice of the ratepayers and secure their support, Mr Stanley Shaw strongly urging the gathering of information aa to tha area to be served aud the advantages of a fully equipped port. H i moved that Mr H. Okey ba elected P.eaiient of ihe League. Tbe Chairman (Mr R. Oock) seconded the motioa which, in spite of Mr Okay's protest, was oirried unanimously. Mr Be why proposed Mr Haikoess as a vio«-pres'dent and referred to the interest .Mr Harknesa had alwayssbown in < hr- interest of tbe porV Mr D. McOullum seconded and tha motion wan carried. Mr Stanley Shaw proposed and Mr W. D. Webster seconded, that Mr Ray bs the other vice-president. The mi'ion was carried. Toe following gentlemen were then 'looted a provisional committee:— Mwsts R. Oc>ck, Stanley Hhaw, J. P.ul, W. D. Webster, A. W. Wood W. Bawley, Peon, D. McAllum, W. Kerr, Lia Standisb, W. L. Newman, Arthur S'andisb, and O. Samuel. It was decided '0 make memberahip of the Lngue free and after a few remarks of a general oh tractor tbe meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
