The opening matches for the season came off yesterday, in fine weather, with the following results: SENIORS. Stratford v. Clifton.—This match was flayed at Waitara, Stratford winning by 6 to nil. Mr Hopkits was referee. Ingiewood v. Tukapa.—Phyel at the local team wiuuing by 4t03 —A potted goal to a try. Mr Kivell was referee. FIRST JUNIOBS. Ingiewood v. Stratford.—Flayed at Stratford, and resulted in a draw, 3 to 3—a penalty goal to a try. Mr W. Procter referee d. Btar A v. Takar a.—Played at the Eecwation Grounds and won by Tukapa by Bto 7—a converte .1 iry and j penalty goal to a try and goal from a mark. Mr Spurdle was referee. Star B v. Clifton.—Flayed at Wai-, tara, and won liy Star 3to nil. Referee, Mr Hopkins. SECOHD JUNIORS. * Star A v. Tukapa.—Flayed at the Recreation Groucdf, Tukapa winning by sto nil—a converted try. Mr Spurdle was referee. Stratford v. Ingiewood.—Piayed at Ingiewood, and won by Stratfoid by 3to nil. Mr Kirell lefereed.
