Rotoiti, for New Plymouth, at 416 p.m. The latest addi'ion to the Union Company's fleet, tbe K*kapa <1498 tons), wheh arrived at Sydney recently after a passage of 59 days from Cardiff via c«pe of Good Hope,, was built two years ago. She was purchased from the ScarUbiick Steam Ship Company and will be used in Ihe Tasmanian coastal service. Two twin screw steamers, each of 10,000 tons gross burthen, have been ordered by the New Zealand Shipping Company to be built in Scotland. They are to steam 13 knots and to have accommodation for 25 saloon passengers.
