LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETY.

The business of tho meeting in the first plice was to oonsider the advisability of forming a Parliamentary U'.ion in oonn> ction with the Booiety, ehe following resolution beiog made: That the gentlemen whose names are on the list ba deemed to be the junior society, and shall take the form of a Parliamentary Utiioa and ma t weekly on a night to be fixed. The motion was lost after a long dieoussion. Tbe Rev. Oiborns then moved that the senior and juoior societies meet on alternate wooks. —Oirried, Tu siiy night wag fix;d for th« meeting night. The senior* to meet on Tuesday fortnight and the juniors next Tuesday. Proposed rules were read, and referred to the jjinfc committees of hnth branches, for a report to tbe opening meeting. The committees of both branches are to m <-1 on Friday eveaing next, at Um Bjioug i Ohambera, at 7 <?olock.
