A vbbt plei&iDt entertainment w. s given in the 03d Men's Home on Thu-s----day evening by the Kev. F. 6. Evans sad his family. Mr Evans took his magic lantern up, and, with the aid of the lime light, gave a splendid exhibition, with soma 200 slides, of a variety of subj cts. Mr Evans alto had ft phonograph which gave a number of excellent items, the inmates being greatly pleased and delighted. Mr Farrar, in a few well-cbosau r< marks on behalf of the inm»tcs, 'hacked Mr Evans aud hid famiiv for coming up on bo rough a night and giving suoa a delightful eater'.r'niocnt. Mr Farrar desires also to acknowledge the receipt, from Mr J. B. R- y, of a set of newly bound copies" of cho " Lsisure Hour "; a quantity of papsrs and fruit from Mrs Julian, of Ornate; and a quantity of illustrated papers from Dr. McCleland.
