Sib, - In your issue of this morniog, speaking of Mr candidature for the position of Mayor, you say " this is,, we understand, the outcome of numerous solicitations from his supporters and of a meeting held on Saturday evening a*; which the mayoralty was discuss> d," Well, about tbe numerous solicita'ioos, obis may be so, but the meeting on Sa'.urday evening was for the distinct purpose of asking him not to stacd again as public foiling was strongly in favour of a change and he promised to consider the matter and give a reply as early as possible, but I presume that the reply is his advertisement.—l am, etc., Ratepayer.
