The great event locally ia the Star' sports, and given fine weather these promise to bo a great success. Thf Committee hive spared no pains to have everything ia good order, and I'.rga fi-Ids and close finishes are <-x----pac el to result. A strong ladies' committee has been formed and will look afrer the wants of visitors. Thesa sport i have now been successfully carried on for a great many years and hava done an immense amount of good in developing the physical abilites of our young, aiid we hope they will receive th« hearty support and patronage of the townspeople to-day.
