BURGLARY AT RAHOTU.
SAFE AT POST OFFICE CLEARED. Information was received in town on Suuday that a daring robbery had taken place at the iUhofcu Post Office on Saturday evening. It appeai s that Miss Honan, the postmistress, and her siot.'r went to a concert and inadvertently not only left a window open, but omit 1 ed to lock the safe. On returning home neither of the ladies noticed anything unusual and went to bed. On the following morning Miss Honan's sister on proceeding to light the fire found a portion of the cash box in the wood rt ceptacle, 'LYis naturally caused some consternation and an investigation proved that the whole of the cash amounting to over £4O had been taken. Liter on Constable Lynd found the other part of the cash box some distance away in a p iddcck. .It was evident that the premises had been entered by means of the window and that the thief had left no trace behind. Constable Lynd, who has just taken over duty at Rahotu, has (he matter in hand. Much sympathy is felt with Miss Uonan for the loss sustained.
