The garrison, numbering 3000 men, after several hours fighting repulsed the assailants with great loss. Russia is making energetic representations to the Forte to suppress the rebellion. The Christians in Serviaare in a Stat* of pinic and are fleeing to their homes. A number of Christians have been massacred at Prelop. The Cur has presented the Prince of Montenegro with eight batteries of smill calibre quick-firers. He accompanied the pressnt with an autograph letter in which he says tint the gift is a token of his friendship for Montenegro in whose independence all Slav peoples are greatly interested.

The dynaor'ting of the bridge on the Adrianople railway was the work of the Macedonian Committee. Two hundred casualties are reported. Four battalions of Turkish troops from Uskub and Adrianople have been •ant to Mitrovitzi, and the army corpi at Btlonika has been ordered to crush rebellion. It is unknown whether the pretext for the Albanian revolt is the proposed Maodonian reforms, or whether it betokens a movement for Albanian . autonomy. "W It is expected the revolt will stimulate Macedonian risings, and apprehension is felt for the safety of M. Stcherbina, Russian Consul at Mitrovetz>, who is wounded. At his energetic dermnd the garrison mustered and saved the Christians from massacre. The garrison, containing a large element of Albanians, at first declined to fight. Beoeived 3, 0.58 a m. CONSTANTISOFLI, April 2. Special precautions are taken to watch the Sultan's Albaoian bodyguard at Constantinople, because they openly praised tbe attack on Mitrovetza. The Saltan and Grand Vizier have apologised to M, Zinovieff, Russiao Minister in Turkey, for the attack on H. Stcherbina, Russian Consul at Mitrovetza.
