LABOUR TROUBLES.

The chief cause is tha employment of con uiion boys. Melbourne, April 1. A deputation from the Federated Employers Association interviewed Sir £, Barton with reference to the proposed Federal Concilia'ion and Arbitration Bill.
The speakers generally opposed the inclusion of the principle of compulsion. One speaker quoted aut.ho'itied to show that compulsion in New Zealand had produced strife instead of peace. Sir Edmund replied that the Bill would provide for conipuls try arbitration. The logic of facts had .taught him that volun'ary arbitration cou ; d not be a success. Ho spoke favourably of the results of the New Zealand Act.
