THE MACDONALD TRAGEDY.
THE FUNERAL. FIR PKBSS ASSOCIATION. Received 31, 10.6 pm. London, March 30. It was a sprioglike morning when the train conveying Sir Hector MacDona'd's remains arrived at Edinburgh, Forty persons, including representative Higbhnders, waited at Waver ley station, and after wreaths had been placed on tbe coffin it was removed to the hearse, which was followed by five mourning coaches and four cabs. These were driven rapidly thiough the streets to Dean cemetery. Crowds of workmen on their way to work uncovered as the cortege parsed, though they were unaware of the identity of d* ceased. The Rev. Dr. Whyte, senior minister of tbe Edinburgh United Free Churches, officiated at the grave, conducting ai simple service. Lady MacDona'd expresses her grati-' tade for the sympathy and self-denial of the public in respecting the family's desire for a private funeral.
