Dr. Dill Mtcky addressed a large meeting at Wyalong for the purpose of forming s braDch of the Protestant Defence Association. Tbe audience was thrown into confusion by the sudden report of fireirms, followed by a fusilade of stones and glass bottles on the rcof.

The mob gathered outside and attempted to enter the Hall. A pjnic seemed inevitable, but those near the doors barricaded them. The polios outside were powerless to quell tha disturbance.

Eventually a police magistrate arrived and read the Riot Act. A 6tone came through a window and struck a man Eeverely. After reading the Act a number of arrests were made, The walls outside were marked with revolver shot*.

A man nam<d Gray had an eya ganged out after leaving the meeting, and is in a critical condition. Four men were fined for rioting.
