WHANGARKI. There was little interest fakm in the licensing election, The Mod>ra>e candidates were elected, HURUNUI. The following is the result of the Hutunui po'l: -G. W. Forbes (Prohibitionist) 454, C. B Mason (Moderate) 450, T. McNaught (Moderate) 440, J. Brown (Vtoderate) 407, Q. W. Orampton (Prohibttiouut) 387, M. Da'ziil (Prohibitionist) 387. Tin tie for fifth place will be settle J by the Reluming Officer's casting vote. AWARUA. For Awarua the Moderates are leading by a narrow majority, but the returns to come may alter the position. BAY OF PLENTY. In the licensing election for the Buy of Plenty district, the Moderate Party has a strong lead, and the returns t > come cinnot affect the result. PATEA. With one return (Tutatawa) to come iu thq totals are : Svmes 926, Brewar 916, Taylor 906, Monbhouse 890, R>p ley 842, The result is an admitted viorory for the Moderate*. HAWERA. The Moderates secured a victory by a fair margin. Rowe 997, Wilson 985, Dividson9Bs, Pitcher 971, Stewart 987. WAITEMATA. Auckland, March 27. , With one return to com?, not likely to alter the result, the Committee consists of three in fivour of 11 o'clock licenses and two cf 10 o'clock.
