Whanoamomona, March 20, 11.40 p.m. The Premier was waited on this morning by a number of dt-puta' ion 3 at S'rathmore, prioi- to his departure for Whangaraomona. Immediatt-ly after leaving Strathmore he wis intercepted by the Huiakiina school children, who presented him wi-h an address, in which they congratulated him on his l.mg tenure of oAka, and that, although they were away in the b.»ck blocks, and although this was his first visit amongst tham, yet they had lu.trdmuch of him, and they did not feal that he was a stranger amongst them. In his reply the Premier said that,! a!-hough ho did not advocate th) bring- j ing up of children in luxury whilst] their parents had to work, still he ask-id i them to take a message to their parents, j which was: That the children should be con-tai.t in th.-ir attendance a'. school. It was not to b > inferred from ibis that they were not to help their parents, but if the children were to make their way in the wo-ld it was necessary that they should be educated, which cjuld only be acquired by cjns'ant attendance.

Mr Seddon then granted the school a holiday, and promised a flag, and was heartily ohesred, and ho then proceeled on his way to Whangamomona. There, on arrival, he was presentel with another address from the inhabitants of that district who had assembled in great numbers, and were most enthusiastic. Mr Seddon was subsequently waited on by deputations on local and is now attending tie banquet given to Mr Symes, M.H.R., and is, it is understood, to speak at; some length. There is a large attendance.
