At the inquiry into the charges against the Registrar of Electors, Mr Fowlds, M H.R., deposed that a great number of tie Jtora experienced difficulty in getting enrolled. Prior to the general election, he went to Mr King's office to compare with the manuscript roll a list of names. King refused to let him do so. Mr Fowlds, referring tonimes appearing on the list which duplicated applications put in by Kinp, sdid that thoss people were cunvassed and those favourable to him were told they could do'o be allowed to vote.
