WOMEU'3 EQUALITY. PEa PBBSS ASSOOIATIO*. Dunbdin, Maroh 18. At the Women's Christian Temper* ano» Union Convention this afcernoon the following resolutions were pissed: —That in a frea community the laws should be in the direj;ion of giving each of i's members "equality of opportunity ; That in the best interes's of the State every hu nan being should be free to enter upin euoh dutiej and hoooab e occupations as may be suited to his or her na' ural or aequirei capaoi'y, and that only by suah freedom cm the State obtiin the fullest economic and sosial valua of its cit'sens; That the legal restraints now place! upon exolu-ively imply a sense d inferiority and are dishonouring to the w m inbood of the community; That the removal of the civil ant politictl disabilities of wonnn is a logical sequence to the ex en-ion of the franchiss to tlipm; That the legil recognition of the economic equality of married women is desirtb'e for the attainment of just ce, and for the furtherance of a truer maniag > relationship ; T.ia*. the time has come when all disabilities, which at present hinder women from sitting las memberj of either Mouses of the legislature, or from being elected or appointed to any public office or position i:> the colony, should be removed, a id that with regard to all powers, right', and duti'sof citizenship, absoltt» equtliy should bathe law of the land.
