The Hose Rail and Ladder Event (for live men) was won by Hawera in 59 2 ssec, Masterten 59 3 sssc 2, Napier 61 2 ss°c 3, Thames 62jec 4, ■ Spit 63 l-ssec 5. The Manual Engine Threa-men event was won by OhriV.ohuich, who tied with Spit for firs'; place 50 3-ssec each, and won the run off in 53scc, Spin taking 2-5-iee longer. Ashburtou and Timiru with 5-1 <l-s.;ec tied for third and fourth places, dividing the money. In the run off for fourth and fi?th places in the One Man Manuil, Rtngiora won ia 60secs, Timarn taking 61 4-5 sec. The Manual Engine, Five Men, Oompitition, au.i the Coup'iog Ev >nt, Twj Man, ha o bnen commenced.
