The Hose, Hydrant and Union Eveut, for 5 meD, was won by Spit in 36 3-5 seconds; Oaversham, 36 4-5 secoudp, 2 ; Napier and LawreDcs, each 40 sccocds, tied for third and fourth prizes ; Thames, 41 seconds, being fifth. Hcse and Rtel (flit), for 5 men: Thame-p, 555.c8, 1; Napier and South Dunedin, each 57sacs, tied for socon 1 und third prizes; while Kumara and Greymouth, each 58>ecs, tied for fourth, and fifth prizss. Napier and Dun«din ran off for second position, Napim winning iu 52goc, or Ssees faster than the Thames te,.m.
