Hall-Jones, T. Y. Duncan and J. Carroll, were present at the championship shooting. At the commencement a hoza was over the targets. Is was soon evident that th<' question of the belt remained between Hyde and Kiug, both of Opaki. With hilf-a-dozm shots gone King, who j held five points lead from the champion, had further increased bis advantage, but in the next four shots they wero all together again. There were many who thought Hyde was about to ' win the belt outright, but King who | had missed his fourteenth shot had I only a hit to win the championship and got a magpie with his last shot, thus preventing the belt goiug out of the Association. The result was received 1 with cheers. Bandsman Hume, Wellington, wins the Rifle Challenge Oup as head scorer in tbis match with 54. The following is the prize list: —
