KRUGER'S HIDDEN TREABCTRH!. DETECTIVES SENT TO SEARCH; - LEYDB AND KRITGER FOREWARNED. STEPS TAKEN TO THWART SCHEME. Per Press Association. Received 10 0 2 a.m. London, March 9. The Daily Mail states that the British Government has sent detectives to Delagoa Bay is search of the four millions of gold supposed to be still hidden, promising them a reward of five per cent if they are successful. Someone betrayed the scheme to Leyds and Kruger, who sent photographs to Delagoa and took other precautions to thwart the design.
RAILWAY EXTENSION. Received 10,1.5 a.m. Cape Town, March 9. The conference at Johannesburg approved the construction of seven lines, totalling 688 miles, and costing .£5,161,000. It is estimated that 30,000 natives will be utilised in railway work.
