Two men, using C-iyneime pepper, blinded a couple of custcnn olßcara at . Johannesburg while they were conveying a bag containing i'sooo to the bank. The thievss wrested the bag from the officer carrying it, hit him with it, aud then lianded it to a horseman. '1 he latter, starting in a headlong flight, knocked down Mr Brandon, manager of a • local-firm. The hojse bolted and threw its rider, who rushed with the bag into a house, where he was arrested. He gave the 3 name of Frank Goddard. He was charged and remanded till the 17th. Mr Brandon succumbed to his injuries.
