Farmers' Plate, of 40 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs out of the stakes. Distance, 1 mile. Entrance, 30s on general entry night. For all horses that have never started for any other race (Farmers' Plates excepted, and winners of those barred); Welterweight for age; open to all horses trained in, and the bona fide property of residents within the boundaries of the Patea, Hawera, and Stratford Counties for three months prior to tiie date of starting. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. Definition of a* hack—A Hack is a horse tliat has not won, at the time of nomination, a race of the value of LBO, or races of the collective value of L2OO, since the Ist of August, 1809. 2. The winner of any Hat race, after the declaration of weights, to carry a penalty of 71bs, and of every additional race 51bs extra in all handicap flat events. 3. Entries by telegram must give full particulars of the horse, and must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. 4. Owners, trainers, and others entering and accepting horses for this meeting are notified that no entries or acceptances will be received unless accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. 5. No entry will be received for any raco except on this condition: That all dilutes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards, and their decision shall be iinal. 0. The Stewards reserve the right to alter the time or date for declaration of weights, nominations, or acceptances. 7. The Handicapper may, if he thinks fit, re-handicap any horse winning a race after the declaration of wbights. All races to be run under " The New Zealand Rules of Kacing." Stakes paid in full.
