Per Press Association. N Melbourne February 16. In an Association match, the world's reoord was established by East Melbourne, who scored 744 runs for two ■wickets. Liver made 341 (including 44 fourere), MaAUister 173, Stuckey not oat 150, Horan not out 45. Eist Melbourne beat Fitzroy by eight wickets and 576 runs. Christohctrch, February 16. At a meeting of the Nsw Zealand Cricket Council to-night a letter was j read from the Wellington Association suggesting that provision be made from ! the proceeds of the tour of the English team for payment of New Zealand players who had to le«e wages while engaged in matches. After discussion it was decided to adopt toe curse suggested. A long discusuon took plice as to apportioning the profits from the matches with the English team controlled by the Council, and the former resolution dividing the profits among the Associations in proportion to their guarantees wjs rescinded, and further action deferred. It was pointed out that atp-esent no provision was made for recouping the Associations that bad lost money. It was resolved thit the captains of, the South Mind and New ZaaUnd teams should bj elected b/ ballot by the teams.
