♦ PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, February 16. This at the Municipal Chambers, the Premier was presented with a parte of sovereigns subscribed by the oitiz-ms of Auckland prior to his departure for the Coronation celebralionp. A sum of j>629, in a casket, was hauded to Mr Siddon by th Mayor.
[ Mr Seddon, in r#ply, touched upon the comments in the English newspapers regarding the testimonial. New Ziahnd papers, he s\id, did not sty the extracts they published were from pro-Boer papers, and coming from that quirtsr ha looked upon the remarks as praise.
