MKErING OF THE TARANAKI EXECUTIVE. A meeting ef tho Executive Committee of the Taranaki Fa> mere' Union was held iri the Egmont Hotel on Thursday. There were present: Messrs C. Lech (chairman), r?uig-?s, Forsyth, Milne, Thomas, and Baker. Oa the motion of Mr Forsyth, seconded by Mr Burgess, it <was decided tha f * the Executive was in favor of representation on tho New Plymouth Harbour Board being on a basis cf valuation, and would recommend all branches to dgeuss this question acd forward res lu ions on the tubj.ct to the Executive. Mr Mike moved, That this Executive is opposed to any expenditure on extension of breakwater (unlrss from surplus revenue) during the currency rf the presentloan, and that it be referred to the branches. Mr Thomas' seconded the motion, which was curried. It, was r.-solved that the Vicc-Presi-den*; (Mr Lerch) should go to the nexOolonlil Execu ive meeting to be held at Palmr.rston North. The subscriptions due to the Co'onial Ex-.cu ive will be forwarded at once; als ' one to the Mr Glass Fund, Ou the motion of Mr Baker, the m> mbers for the district will be written to asking thf-m to send a copy of all Bills ccming before the House of Re-prrs-mt'itives affecting the farming industry to the Executive for consideration. This" was seconded by Mr Tbomae, and carried. It was decided to call the attention of the Minister for Agriculture to the unsatisfactory way in which the Noxiou * Weeds Act is applied to Na'ive and Crovn Linds. The neglect to destroy on such lands is a source of loss and rnuoyance to neighbouring settlers. Accjunts to the extent cf £4 10a wer« passed for payment.
