MR. WfIITAKER DI3TMOT CHIEF RULER. Specialto Daily News.—By Telegraph. Chuistchurch, February 13. The Rechabite Council brought its sitting to a close this aftermcon. It was resolved to comoiuaicate with the Auckland District with a view of amalgamating. The law relatiag to funeral allowances was amended. A resolution was adopted allowing of members of other Friendly Societies receiving an ontorchango of medical benefits. The proposal to increase the payment of reoifsentatives was ltat. Mr. J. Whitaker, of Now Plymouth, was unanimously elected District Chief Ru'er. Mr F. C: Coikill, of New Plymouth, was appointed to represent the district at the next high moveable conference, to bo htld in England.
