GARDEN PARTY AT RATANUI.

Tb.9 garden p .rty held yesterday in connection with the Wesleyan Church at Mr Brash's beautiful residence, which he kindly lent for the purpose, was a very pleasant and enjoyable affair, the attendance being very good considering the number of other attractions. , The committee responsible for the succes of the fuoction are to be congratulated on the way they catered for the enjiyment of their guests, Everything was done that could be done to make the afternoon enjoyable, and with games, afternoon tea, and other attractions, ihe afternoon proved all too short, everyone boing sirry when the h.u; of departure arrivd. Mr Brash was warmly thanked for the use of his giounds, and the wish was generally expressed that many more such gatherings should ba hold there, j Mr and Mrs Brash gave everyone a very hearty welcome and made all the visitors f<el at home, thus adding very materially to the p'easure of the day.

The Primitive Methodist Sunday School Picnic yesterday at the Water Works was a very enjoyable outing, The children and their adult friends asst mbled in considerable numbers and spent a very pleasant afternoon in the usual m inner.
