BURGLARY AT STRATFORD.
PBJt PRESS ASSOCIATIOM. Stratford, February 12. The premises of Mr J. Petrie, | jeweller, were entered by burglar* hat night. The leek of the front door had evidently been picked by an experienced hand. Owing to the more valuable gold artielei being removed nightly, the burglars got only silver and plated goods. The beoiy included eleven watches. Almost every box in the shop was opened, and goods left in confusion. Apparently the burgkr worked in the dark, as a number of gold ornaments on window shelves were left. Mr Petrie was away on a holiday, the first he his taken for seven year.", and great sympathy is manifested for him and Mrs Petrie, who, with her nephew, have been looking after the business.
