NEW ZEALAND CENTRAL DISTRICT 1.0. R. COUNCIL MEETING.
The Biennial Council of the above Society was opened in the O Jdfellow'a Hall, Ohrißtchurch, on Tuesday, 3rd February. The following officers were present District Chief Ruler, Bro. ff. Stead ; D.O. Ruler, Bro. J. Whitaker; P.D.0.R., Bro. Faudin ; District Secretary, Bro. Hon. F. H. Fraser, M.L.0.; D.I.J. Tent, Bro. Fathers, and representatives from the various branches. Bras. Clarke and Grayson represented the local Tent. Tbe report presented by the District Officers showed that during the year three new Tents had been opened making the total number of Tents in the district 29 male and 4 female with a membership of 1549. Daring the biennial period the sum of £3BO had been paid from the funeral fond owing to the death of 12 members and three members wive?.
The sickneß3 experienced shows a total of 1563 weeks 2 days, being at the rate cf one week and nine hours per member and the amount paid for rick pay was £1391 0s 4d, being at the zate of nineteen shillings for each, this being 9 j 9 J per member leu than when last reported. The funds of the district are as follows: -Funertl Funds £6463 4s lid, benevolent fund £193 8s 7d, rick pay guarantee fund £1384 lls 9d; contingent funds £156 8s 4d, juvenile funds £SB 15s 6d. The tick fnnds in credit to the various Tents amounts to £22,276 13s, and Tent contingent funds £516 19s 3d, giving a grand tetel of £31,050 0s 7d. The sum divided among the members of the Tents would give each £2l 4a.
