SCARCITY OF FOOD IN WAR TIME.

In *fconii9ction with the recently formed Association for promoting associatiocs for inquiriag into the food supply in war time, the Duke of Sutherland presided at a large meeting, where- ' at the Association was duly initiated. A deputation was appointed to inter- ■ Ti»w the Government on the subject. ' Lord Strathcora said it would be a ' great relief to the Motherland and the Colonies if measuiei for the security of 1 food in war time were initiated.
