Therb was ival weather yesterday for the bowling match, Nelson v. New Plymouth. Toe green toi was in capital ord«r so tint some really good play was witnessed by a large number of interested spscta'ow. Before proceeding with tht game the President (Mr J«s. Paul) cordially welcomed th* visitors in his usual happy manner. i At the start New Plymouth est»b lished a strong lead, and it looked as if 1 the local men would win with a large margin. An the game progressed, however, the Nelsonians improved their position considerably iho second rink (skipped by Mr Rou-) esp cially pret y on a fins spurt and wound up by getting on even terms with their opponents. Twenty five head* were played. The p'ay ended in a victory for the home club by 10 t>oin s. Tne scores were: - New Plymouth. Nelson. Rnndle Edwards Grey G. Fle'.t Rundle 8, Brown J. The Nelson phy->rsdo battle agiiogt Hawera to-day and play Wanganui on Thursday. They stiy at Wanganui three days, afer which they play Feilding, Palme: ston, Wellington and Blenhaim.
