FIRES.
PER PREIS ASSOCIiTIOS. Invercarqill, January 28. Detchler's hotel, which was occupied by Horace Hastings was pirtially destroyed by a fire which originated in an unoccupied bedroom in the back portion of the hotel, which is one < f the largest in the town. The hotel was saved, but the front was completely gutted. The insurances are £4OOO on the building, £ISOO on the furnature, £2OO on the stock, and £350 on the boarders' effects; total £6050. The loss will probably exceed the insu'ance. I The origin of the fire is a mystery.
