The Legislative Assembly, on Mr Preodergast's motion, adjourned after a discussion oa the action of Mr McKenzie, Minister of Land-", in subletting 4000 acres of certain lands for which he paid a grazing license of £25 yearly. Mr Frendergast contended that this conduct uDnVed Mr McKeazie to hold office, and demanded an enquiry. Mr Mckenzie admitted that he sold the grass on the land, but said he hsd ■pent £3OOO on improvement and considered that he had a right, to recoup his losses. He desired a fu'l enquiry and placed his resignation in the hands of the Premier. Subsequently the Premier guve notice of his intention to move to-<JLy for the appointment of a committe to enquire into the charge ag-unst Mr McKe; zie.
