With reference lo the comprint by & Dun'din sold er of the dihtorine?B on the pirt of the Defence Uepattment in dealing with claims by returned troopers fjr monies alleged to be du?, the Minister of D fence po : nts out that [the reflection is undeserved, as two of the claimants were fioally p*id, while the remaining two were overpaid by a few shillings. Mi' Seddon addt that the men's pay is in no instance delibeia'ely kept baok as al'eged.
