SHOT BY BURGLARS.
SENSATIONAL EVIDENCE. Per Preps Association, Received 26, 11.26 p.m. Sydney, January 26. Woolfcr*', wlmi arrested, confessed that piior to the murder of Long the other two arrestees visited the hotel. He gave them the impression that there was a sife. Woolford, Digby Grand, and Yeoman were to-day charged with murdering Constable Long. A witness gave some sensational evidence with reference to a conversation amongst the accused and a fourth maD, who has not yet been arrested, whereat arrargemon' r were made for a number of burglarie , including the hotel wfcere Longw-K murdered, and utilising a racing more for conveying tbe spoil. Witness alleged he wes asked to take a hand in the burglaries bub declined. The evidence was unfinished. The police have seized the racing ! mare and ascertained that tbe owners lent her to Grand and his companion i on the might of the murder, I Digby Grand is a notorious criminal, and temanded to-day in connection with a recent extensive burglary at j Paddington.
